Senior Mechanical Estimator/Department Manager

Review and understand scopes of work, negotiate with customers and vendors. Prepare final cost estimates. Must be aggressive and a strategic thinker.

Educational and experience requirements include: 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related experience. 5-8 years estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience (at least 4 years estimating experience) in commercial and industrial construction.

Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required. Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort essential. Excellent organizational skills vital. Must consistently utilize superior skills in effective communication.

Must be able to accurately estimate multi-million-dollar projects, prepare accurate conceptual estimates from schematic design documents, function effectively in the pre-construction services environment, demonstrate the ability to select projects for bid that fit the VHV profile and maintain a high bid success rate.
