Positions Available:
- Plumber/Pipefitter with minimum 2 – 3 years of field experience
- Licensed Master Plumber with a minimum 4 – 6 years of field experience
- Plumber Journey Worker with a minimum 4 – 6 years of field experience
- Plumber Foreman with 6 – 10 years of supervisor experience
Plumbers are responsible for the installation, repair and/or replacement of plumbing/piping and related systems in industrial and commercial applications in accordance with industry standards and local state codes.
The Plumber/Pipefitter must be knowledgeable in all forms of plumbing and pipefitting applications in new or existing buildings across all forms of construction while meeting VHV productivity and quality standards and adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using a wide variety of industry standard methods
and tools. - Install plumbing fixtures, pumps and other mechanical equipment per applicable codes and manufacturers recommendations.
- Conduct tests on piping systems using industry accepted methods to ensure systems are leak free.
- Direct workers in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of piping/plumbing systems.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, penetrations, in structures using a variety of measuring instruments and techniques.
- Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to required angle, using hand, or power tools or machines.
- Review blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details.
- Use appropriate anchor systems to secure pipes.
- Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance with required specifications.
- Ability to coordinate with other trades and general contractors.
Competencies:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Maintain all applicable certifications and licenses as required including but not limited to; VT/NH Journey Worker/Master Plumbing License, Natural Gas Certification, and LP Gas Certification.
- Ability to mentor laborers and apprentices.
- Ability to work in extreme weather/temperature conditions.
- Possess strong practical problem-solving skills.
- Maintain company provided tools in a safe and acceptable condition.
- Ensure conformance with all company, customer, State and Federal safety regulations.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, architectural drawings and construction documentation.
- Ensure applicable local and state codes and standards are being met with all installations.
- Ability to recognize and report unsafe working conditions.
- Knowledge of related machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to read and use various measuring devices.
- Knowledge of relevant safety equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to meet company, VOSHA and OSHA standards.
- Possess OSHA 10 certification or ability to get certified.
- Show up on time and ready to work each day.
- Adhere to VHV’s policies and procedures while representing and promoting the company in a professional manner.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This is a field-based position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability and willingness to travel to local as well as remote locations (out of town, out of state) for short and/or extended periods of time.
- Ability to hear and verbally communicate effectively.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Workers must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
- Use hands, fingers, arms, and legs to safely manipulate objects.
- Lift and carry tools and materials weighing up to 75 lbs (average lift less than 50 lbs).
- Climb up and down, balance and work safely on a minimum 30-foot ladder and scaffolding 15 feet or more in the air.
- Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist.
- The employee regularly works outside and is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
- Work regularly occurs at jobsites where exposure to construction related hazards exists, including working near moving mechanical parts, working in high and precarious places and confined spaces.
- Wear the proper PPE: safety boots that cover at least the ankle, clean denim or appropriate work pants without tears or rips, safety glasses, gloves, and your hand tool bag.
